The Prairie River Artists painting group was formed in 2002 by artist June Ricklefs of Saskatoon. The group members meet twice a month, from September to April, at the Albert Community Centre, to paint and discuss their art.

The artists work in several different media, including watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, coloured pencil, and pen and ink. They all have diverse styles and interests, which are reflected in their work. Several members of the group have won awards for their work.
